These two best friends Rafe (Ben Affleck) and Danny (Josh Hartnett), they love to fly and especially they want to become a jet fighter later. As the war eventually occurs in Europe and Asia that time, it’s becoming a big opportunity for their dream and they sign up for the air force. However the only thing that stopping them from loving their dreams are the ladies that they love at army’s nursing staff.

Therefore Rafe falling with one of the nurses, Evelyn (kate Beckinsale). During the war, Rafe got a mission and have to go to war and the two of them realize that they might not ever meet again. After awhile when Evelyn has been transferred into Pearl Harbor, she received a news from Rafe’s best friend, Danny, that Rafe was shot down and presumed killed on the spot.

On Sunday morning, where all the troops are unprepared and a lot of them were hang over during the Saturday night. A sudden and suicidal air attack from Japanese jet fighter was a shock. And the Japanese smartly hit and bombs their naval and air port, which totally paralyze the Pearl Harbor. A massive air attack brilliantly plotted and planned by the Japanese.

After several months, the American prepares to counter attack, which leading the way by Danny. During the journey of counter attacking to Japan, they have to go through Vietnam and a lot of them shots down. However some of them reach Japan main island and throw bombs into Nagasaki and Hiroshima. However the bombing mission could also say as suicidal attack as they don’t have enough fuel to fly back to American area.

I feel this movie was a really good historical movie, where we get to know why the American bomb a massive impact into Hiroshima and Nagasaki that time. It has a lot of modification based on the history. But that’s the one making the movie entertaining. Overall I rate this movie as 7.5 out of 10 for their educating and yet entertaining.

Paranormal Activity (T)

Director : Oren Peli

Writer : Oren Peli

Main Cast:
  • Katie Featherston (Katie)
  • Micah Sloat (Sloat)
Award:
  • Festival Trophy
  • Honorable Mention

MPAA Rating : R for language
Runtime : 86 Min
Company : BlumHouse Production

Basically from my point of view, the movie was a low budget movie. The movie was only in the room most all the time. I can say ¾ of the shows in their bed room and a two-story house in San Diego. Katie (Katie Featherston) and Micah (Micah Sloat) are just a typical nice young couple.

They're not married, and Katie is in college, where the boyfriend is a day-trader. They're relatable, they don't speak movie dialogue, and they seem to really be into each other.
One night, it starts at 3 a.m. in the morning, Katie woke up from her sleep because of noises, where she try to complain to Micah but, he don’t believe whatever Katie said.

However Micah is a caring boyfriend, who try to comforts his beloved girlfriend. But, the thing is, I felt the boyfriend act too big haha. He go and buy Video camera, highest tech and really sensitive in voice capturing to convince his girlfriend, that in their house have nothing, but the only 2 of them.

So the main idea is, the boyfriend trying to find an evidence if someone trying to messing around with them.
In the next morning after Micah buy the video camera, Micah follows Katie around with the camera during the day and at nigh. In the end he sets up the camera to record events in their bedroom,as what the girlfriend complains about.

The morning after, Micah transfer all the capturing video into his laptop. And guess what?? oh yeah, that camera does in fact confirm the existence of something terrifying in their house. To say more would be to spoil the story. :) I really recommend this movie so much.. though it based on low budget, but really makes you goosebumps haha.. get prepared hardly to sleep after watching this movie.. hehehhe

Main Cast:
  • John Cho (Harold Lee)
  • Kal Penn (Kumar Patel)

MPAA Rating : R for strongly for language, sexual content, drug use and crude humor
Runtime : 88 Min

Harold Lee (John Cho) the type of person serious, book worm, and he is a shy Korean-American accountant. Where his best friend, Kumar Patel (Kal Penn), an Indian-American, is always crazy over party, and his parents think he's about to enroll in med school. One night Harold and Kumar were getting stoned, and there is a White Castle commercial plays on TV and gives them an extra imagination where they are already high.

They are actually hungry as the effect of ganja, and Kumar seems to remember that there is a White Castle near where they live. So they decided to go and drive to White Castle to have the Burger as in the commercials.

As they drive and there is a hijacks asking for a ride, and Harold and Kumar surprised that the guy was Neil Patrick, an actor. After some chatting, Harold and Kumar felt something wrong with this hijack guy and decided to stop by in the gas station. After they stop, they decided to leave this Neil Patrick. Unfortunately, the car was stolen by that guy and they start arguing and blaming on each other haha.

In the end, they are force to walk to the white castle and go through bushes and forest where as they were high caused of ganja, they met this cheetah in the jungle and they are so freaked out after saw a corpse by the cheetah.

Basically this movie was one of my favorite, I really wish to have the DVD of this movie as I lost it. This is the movie that never fails to make me laugh so hard. And I rate this as 8.5 out of 10. I really recommend this movie. U guys should watch this marvelous movie hahaha

The Spirit (L)

Director : Frank Miller

Writer : Frank Miller and Will Eisner

Main Cast:
  • Jamie King (Lorelei Rox)
  • Gabriel Macht (The Spirit/Denny Colt)
  • Eva Mendes (Sand Saref)
  • Samuel L. Jackson (The Octopus)
  • Scarlett Johansson (Silken Floss)

MPAA Rating : PG-13 intense sequence of stylize violence and action, brief nudity and sexual content.
Runtime : 103 Min
Company : Lionsgate

Base on adaptation comic book called "Spirit" written by legendary "Will Eisner"

Based on the newspaper comic strip by Will Eisner, The Spirit was directed and written by Frank Miller and stars Gabriel Macht, Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson, etc. The story starts off with a good policeman named Denny Colt who returns from the death as “the spirit”, a hero whose mission is fight against any evil forces invading the city including has arch nemesis, The octopus who murders anyone who comes into contact with him and is unfortunate enough to see his face. The Octopus has come up with an evil plan to wipe out the entire city.

The Spirit however must track down the evil Octopus from the city’s rundown warehouses, catacombs all the while facing the city’s beautiful women. Who have their own agenda’s towards the spirit either to seduce, love or kill the masked vigilante.

The movie despite it’s star studded cast and extensive promotion was a critical and commercial fail. However it was more successful once released in the blu-ray version, which I even bought myself and love the high- definition Cinema photography.

I also loved the concept of this movie about a modern hero, he wears converse I don’t know how modern that gets. The style, the acting also made it feel like a real life comic strip. However I thought Samuel L Jackson as The Octopus was a little over the top and the dialogue was a little cheesy.

Overall i liked this movie but in comparison to other Frank Miller movies this was the least i liked but if you like comic strips coming to life in movies and film noir i recommend this is the right movie for you. I heard a lot of people find this movie not very good because of the story concept but personally it is a bit 50s comic cartoon style that is why for some people would see this movie bad.

This is overall the most unique movie I have ever seen. Sin City is a 2005 movie adaptation based on Frank Miller’s one of my favorite graphic novel of all time. The genre of the movie is a combination between action, crime and thriller with a slash of film noir into the mix. The plot of the movie itself focuses on Basin City, a city nicknamed “Sin City” that has four inter-weaved stories based in this city.

The first story is a short story that reflects the depression of women that need to pay a man to loved her when they commit suicide. While the second story Part one of the yellow bastard is about a cop that saves a young little girl from being raped.

The third story features a man seeking revenge on a ruthless murder who murdered his one night stand, the one and only girl who gave him a chance. While the fourth story, The big Fat kill is about a man who must dispatch of a cop’s body but he must go out of town to do so. All of the stories are somewhat connected and feature a star studded cast.

I remember back in the day when this movie was about to premier it created such a hype maybe it was due to stars and to the editing of this movie which is somewhat like a comic strip bought to life. Overall all of the stars cast did a great job in potraying their characters.

My favourite story though was the second one that featured Mickey Rourke and Jamie King and Elijah Wood who did good as the ruthless murderer. Overall I recommend this movie to mature audiences only and those who appreciate and love watching film noir back in the day.

Don't you just love violence ? one of my favorite scene.

  • David Wenham (Dilios)
  • Dominic West (Theron)

MPAA Rating : R for graphic battle sequence throughout, some sexuality and nudity.
Runtime : 117 Min
Company : Warner Bros

300 is a 2007 movie based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller which is a fiction that tells story the Battle of Thermoplyae. The cause of this battle was due to Xerxes, The Persian Ruler who had in that era taken over a number of Hellenic States invaded Sparta and left them with two options, for King Leonidas to sacrifice himself for the greater good of Sparta or to watch Sparta burn to the ground

King Leonidas did not accept this news and he killed the messenger who brought the news who is one of the slave of Xerses. The Battle of Thermoplyae was a battle between an alliance of Greek- city states led by Spartans and Persian Empire ruled by Xeres, the battle was said to occur in August or September 480BC at the pass of Thermoplyae(The “Hot gates”).

The battle which lasted for three days in which the 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians and other slave soldiers were able to defeat over 100.000 of soldiers from the Persian empire however a traitor among them seeks his revenge and soon the soldiers meet their doom.

Basically this movie isn’t for anyone since this movie is adapted from the graphic novel there is a certain style to it. Every single shot is intended to be a work of art, the colors and characters was given so much detail and was so specific. During the action scenes there are time “slow motion” where you can see in detail the wounds, the blood splatter without it being too sadistic or gore.

This specific scene was simple but you could feel the passion and love. The performance by Gerard Butler was spectacular I think that he should do more movies like this instead the boring romantic comedies he has so much potential. Lena Heady was also great as the Queen who loved her husband and fought for him to the very end. This movie has everything action, romance, history.

Once upon a time, a group of murderous humans have been kidnapped and transported to a distant planet and it is a galaxy far, far away from earth. all of them did not realized when they been kidnapped and by the time they wakes up is when they are flying to the ground and needs to open up their parachute. Where within the group we’ve got mercenaries, a bandit/thug, convict, special ops soldier, member of the Yakuza and incongruously, a doctor.

All of them reached the ground safely as they keeps on walking up ground to find safer territory. This time instead of one Predator, we have a number of them. This give us the opportunity to watch the humans take down one or two and get a couple of shots in instead of it happening only at the end. In the movie the doctor was the most decent whereas all the members of the groups are the most scariest person on earth. all of them were confuse why is this doctor included in the jungle. They suddenly found a lot of cages, and they believe it was a beasts' cage that has been sent to that planet along with them.

On earth, those people were a predators, but now they are looked after the predator and they have to fight for their survival against an unknown enemy. The story is VERY close to the original film, only it takes place on another world, and with multiple Predators. Personally, I didn’t mind, as long as the basic story work for what it is hehe

Overall about this movie is 7 out of 10, actually it the movie was as I expected, I would give an eight however the movie was in a stable level, where there is no nerves or heart exercising hahaha but it was good enough for entertaining a new story way that they’ve been delivered to us .

Oh ya, and by the way, you will found out why the doctor included in the groups as you watch this epic movie :) in this review i will not share all unexpected scenes.
