Clash of The Titans (L)

Basically who isn’t fascinated by Greek Mythology, Greece being one of the most ancient civilizations of our time surely must spark your curiosity. This is what Clash of the Titans is trying to do with it’s viewers take them on a journey to ancient Greece and feed them the best cinema photography available. Just for your information the story is set in the ancient Greek City of Argos where a war is about to explode between man and Gods.

During a feast in the kingdom of Argos King Kepheus and Queen Casiopeia comparing themselves and their daughter Andromeda to the Gods. Suddenly after hearing this Hades the God of underworld suddenly appears before them killing the Queen and all the soldiers while Perseus, a prisoner taken into the castle is unaffected. Revealing Perseus to be a demigod (Half man Half God) of Zeus.

Hades then threatens the people of Argos to sacrifice their beloved princess Andromeda to the Kraken or there would be war. The king then losing all hope sees Perseus as the only solution and asks for his help Perseus refuses until he meets Io an immortal woman who does not age as punishment for refusing to be seduced by a God. Perseus, Io and Argos’s finest soldiers soon march on a quest to recover the head of Medusa, where medusa head is the only way for defeating Kraken.

This movie was a remake of the 1981 classic where back in that day it was very popular with old technology but for now i find very different in every aspect especially in technology 3D, I think it’s a good thing that Hollywood is remaking classics to introduce them to a younger generation, eventhough some people might see it as uncreative and a simple way to gain money I think that buy remaking movies and adding better special effects and CGI it takes the movie to a whole new level.

The actors did a very well job in get into the characters, and the casting director did a great job since I can’t really tell the difference between Zeus (Liam Neeson) and Hades (Ralph Fiennes) they really look like brothers to me. The plot of the movie is also very different to the real greek mythology so just take this movie as a form of light entertainment. You can Watch it with your family, friends it’s a movie to be enjoyed by all.

p.s

If you love Greek mythology, you would love this movie =)

In fact, my favorite scene in the classic clash of titans still lies on battle between Perseus and Medusa which I find very intense and the medusa itself in original much scarier than the remake.
