Valkryie, is a movie based on the event of World War II. The Genre of this movie is historical thriller with some action thrown into it. The movie tells the true events of the most powerful nation at that time Germany, where a group of Senior German officers and politicians have conspiracy plan to end the Nazi regime before the nation is crushed to a gruesome defeat , so they all launch the master plan named Operation Valkyrie to take control of the country by assassinating Adolf Hitler.

However due to human failure their plan to save the nation fails which brings a great tragedy on those involved. The Hero of this movie named Colonel Claus Von Stauffenberg played by Tom Cruise did a really great job, off screen I find Tom Cruise to be somewhat annoying and unbearable but in this movie he really has the charisma that I once saw in his classic movies such as Jerry Maguire and Top Gun.

He commands the screen in a way that will make you root for him, you can feel how much he loves his country and the lengths that he will go.

Another performance which caught my eye was Jamie Parker who played Lieutenant Werner Von Haeftan I liked his portrayal as a loyal abiding assistant to the Colonel, in the ending where the individuals involved in the operation met their tragic ending I felt a deep sympathy for them, that they had to lose their lives for being right which wasn’t fair at all.

Bryan Singer did a great job in building the suspense of this movie, the movie felt somewhat dark intense atmosphere the story was also not rushed. The one thing I like about this movie also is that shows a different light on Germans at that time from all the movies we see about World War II is that all Germans are evil or brutal but it shows that even at a time of tyranny there were still people out there who were willing to fight for human rights and their beliefs with the risk of being killed.
